Paul George has 19/6/4 line as 76ers lose Game 2
Wed, May 6, 2026, 4:20 PM
Paul George had 19 points (7-of-18 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks and five three-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Knicks in Game 2.
Analysis: George had 23 points in a pivotal Game 6 win against the Celtics in the first round, but has failed to reach 20 points again in three games since then. In Game 2 on Wednesday, the 36-year-old small forward made five three-pointers, but only made two other field goals and finished with 19 points. He's likely to have a big role for the rest of the series, especially if Joel Embiid (hip, ankle) remains out. The series shifts to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Friday.
Tyrese Maxey
Maxey has 26 points in Game 2 loss Wednesday
Wed, May 6, 2026, 4:14 PM
Tyrese Maxey had 26 points (9-of-23 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), three rebounds, six assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday's loss to the Knicks in Game 2.
Analysis: Maxey bounced back after a difficult Game 1 that saw him score just 13 points in a blowout loss. The 25-year-old point guard had 26 points in Game 2, but wasn't particularly efficient with 23 attempts from the field. It was enough to keep the 76ers in the game, but the Philadelphia offense couldn't score down the stretch. The 76ers will have to win Game 3 on Friday to avoid falling behind 3-0 in the series.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (ankle, hip) out for Game 2
Wed, May 6, 2026, 9:38 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (ankle, hip) has been downgraded to out for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Knicks.
Analysis: Embiid was given a probable tag on Tuesday with an ankle sprain, but he's also dealing with right hip soreness, and the two injuries will keep him out for at least one contest. The 76ers got blown out by the Knicks in Game 1 with Embiid on the court, and the team will have an even more daunting task on Wednesday with the star big man on the sideline. Andre Drummond and Adem Bona will fill in at center, while Tyrese Maxey and Paul George will have to shoulder the load as scorers.

Joel Embiid (ankle) probable for Game 2 Wednesday
Tue, May 5, 2026, 10:58 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (ankle) is probable for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Knicks.
Analysis: Embiid is back on the 76ers' injury report, although the reason ahead of Game 2 is due to a sprained right ankle. He only logged 25 minutes in Game 1, as the 76ers trailed by 31 points at the end of the third quarter. Embiid is listed as probable, so he should be on the court Wednesday night. If not, Andre Drummond and Adem Bona will figure more prominently in the rotation.
Paul George
Paul George hits four triples, scores 17 points
Mon, May 4, 2026, 4:53 PM
Paul George tallied 17 points (6-of-11 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), three rebounds, three assists and four three-pointers in Monday's Game 1 loss to the Knicks.
Analysis: George and Kelly Oubre Jr. (12/5/1/1/1 with one three-pointer) were the only 76ers' starters to make more than 50 percent of their shot attempts in Game 1. Given how hard the 76ers had to work to get out of the first round, erasing a 3-1 deficit to eliminate the Celtics, it was no surprise that they looked fatigued in Game 1. Since Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid will be the focus of New York's defense, George's ability to have a big series could be a deciding factor in the 76ers' favor.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey scores 13 points in Game 1 defeat
Mon, May 4, 2026, 4:52 PM
Tyrese Maxey recorded 13 points (3-of-9 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), three rebounds and two assists in Monday's Game 1 loss to the Knicks.
Analysis: The Knicks were able to keep Maxey in check on Monday, but the quick turnaround from Philadelphia's Game 7 win over the Celtics was also a factor. The 76ers point guard missed all three of his three-point attempts and recorded twice as many turnovers (four) as assists (two). One can safely assume that Maxey will put forth a better performance in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid limited to 14 points in Game 1 defeat
Mon, May 4, 2026, 4:52 PM
Joel Embiid finished Monday's Game 1 loss to the Knicks with 14 points (3-of-11 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), four rebounds and one assist.
Analysis: Having just finished their seven-game series with the Celtics on Saturday, Embiid and the 76ers did not have the “juice” on Monday. While it's never good to get blown out, the 7-footer played just 25 minutes in Game 1, getting some valuable rest ahead of Wednesday's Game 2. Embiid did take a shot to the midsection during the second quarter, which is a concern given the fact that he underwent an appendectomy late in the regular season. However, he remained in the game, so this may not be a major concern heading into Game 2.

Derek Bodner
Joel Embiid (hip) is available for Monday's Game 1 against the Knicks.
Analysis: Embiid is good to go after initially being listed as probable on the injury report. The 76ers will stick with their preferred starting lineup, with Embiid being joined by Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (hip) probable for Game 1 vs. Knicks
Sun, May 3, 2026, 11:12 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (hip) is probable for Monday's game against the Knicks.
Analysis: Embiid showed up on Sunday's injury report with a hip contusion, likely sustained in Game 7 of the Sixers' victory over the Celtics. The former league MVP got a late start to the postseason due to recovery from a late-season appendicitis surgery. Embiid averaged 28.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists in four games in the first-round win over Boston. He'll look to have similar dominance against the Knicks to begin the Eastern Conference Semifinals, should he be available to play on Monday.
Paul George
Paul George hits three triples in Game 7 victory
Sun, May 3, 2026, 3:35 AM
Paul George finished Saturday's Game 7 win over the Celtics with 13 points (5-of-10 FGs), three rebounds, one assist and three three-pointers.
Analysis: Added to the 76ers' injury report early Saturday afternoon due to an illness, George logged 42 minutes in Game 7. While the final stat line wasn't elite, his two-way abilities were a factor in the Game 7 victory that should not be overlooked. Solid defensively throughout, George shot 22-of-40 from three in the series. Philadelphia will need steady production from George on both ends of the floor in their second-round series againt the Knicks, which begins on Monday.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey records 30/11/7 line in Game 7 win
Sat, May 2, 2026, 4:11 PM
Tyrese Maxey recorded 30 points (11-of-18 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), 11 rebounds, seven assists and two three-pointers in Saturday's Game 7 win over the Celtics.
Analysis: Maxey's third 30-point game of the series helped the 76ers become the most recent team to erase a 3-1 deficit. The 76ers' guard had a big night offensively, shooting over 50 percent from the field and dishing out seven assists. And with Joel Embiid hobbled late, Maxey scored eight of his 30 points in the final two minutes to help get Philadelphia over the finish line. Next up for the 76ers are the Knicks, with Game 1 scheduled for Monday night in New York.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid posts 34/12/6 line in Game 7 win
Sat, May 2, 2026, 4:10 PM
Joel Embiid finished Saturday's Game 7 win over the Celtics with 34 points (12-of-26 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs), 12 rebounds, six assists, one block and one three-pointer.
Analysis: Embiid recorded three double-doubles in the final four games of this series, helping Philadelphia eliminate Boston from the postseason for the first time since 1982. Boston called on Jaylen Brown to defend Embiid at times, with Neemias Queta providing the help, and the former league MVP managed to put up 34 points. There was an injury scare late, as teammate Tyrese Maxey fell into Embiid's left knee, which led to him watching the final 20 seconds from the bench. Philadelphia won't have much time to rest, as they visit the Knicks for Game 1 of that series on Monday.

Adam Aaronson
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is available for Saturday's Game 7 against the Celtics.
Analysis: The 76ers will be at full strength for Saturday's series decider, as Embiid has been upgraded from probable to available. He'll take on his usual role as the starting center, leaving limited minutes for Andre Drummond and Adem Bona off the bench.

Paul George (illness) upgraded to available
Sat, May 2, 2026, 12:52 PM
Adam Aaronson
Paul George (illness) is available for Saturday's Game 7 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Added to the 76ers' injury report early Saturday afternoon, George has been given the all-clear to play in the series decider. And with the Celtics not having Jayson Tatum (knee), this sets up to be an excellent opportunity for George and the 76ers to complete their rally from a 3-1 series deficit.
Paul George
Paul George (illness) now probable for Game 7
Sat, May 2, 2026, 7:05 AM
Tony Jones
Paul George (illness) is probable for Saturday's Game 7 against the Celtics.
Analysis: George was added to the injury report Saturday afternoon with an illness. While it's not a great sign that the 36-year-old small forward woke up sick on the day of Game 7, he's still listed as probable. Still likely to play, George had 23 points in the 76ers' win in Game 6 on Thursday.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) probable for Game 7
Fri, May 1, 2026, 11:08 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is probable for Saturday's Game 7 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Embiid is on the 76ers' initial injury report for Game 7, but it would be stunning if the 7-footer were not on the court Saturday night. He finished Game 6 two assists shy of a triple-double as Philadelphia extended the series. Look for Embiid to take on his usual heavy workload as the 76ers look to beat the Celtics in a playoff series for the first time since 1982.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid posts 19/10/8 line in Game 6 victory
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 4:57 PM
Joel Embiid finished Thursday's win over the Celtics with 19 points (6-of-18 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), 10 rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer.
Analysis: In his third game back on the floor, Embiid put forth another solid performance. He didn't shoot the ball efficiently but still nearly found his way to the 20-point mark. The former league MVP made up for his inefficient scoring with good work on the glass and tremendous work as a facilitator. His balanced performance nearly led to a triple-double, which helped the Sixers force a Game 7.
Tyrese Maxey
Maxey scores 30, helps PHI force a Game 7
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 4:55 PM
Tyrese Maxey added 30 points (11-of-22 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, two steals and three three-pointers in Thursday's win over the Celtics.
Analysis: Maxey's scoring was a significant factor in the 76ers' Game 6 win. He shot well overall, especially outside the arc, and also finished as one of Philadelphia's leaders in assists on the evening. He had offensive help from several of his teammates, as well, which could be a key for the 76ers in a win-or-go-home situation on Saturday. They'll likely rely heavily on Maxey, once again.
Paul George
Paul George adds 23 points in win over Celtics
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 4:41 PM
Paul George finished Thursday's win over the Celtics with 23 points (8-of-17 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and five three-pointers.
Analysis: George reached the 20-point mark for the first time in the opening-round series on Thursday, which played a big role in Philadelphia forcing a Game 7. His biggest contributions came from beyond the arc, where he accounted for nearly half of the 76ers' three-point total. The veteran forward also had some fine moments on defense during his 40 minutes. He'll have a chance to log another strong outing on Saturday in the series-deciding game.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) available for Game 6
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 1:38 PM
Derek Bodner
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is available to play against the Celtics on Thursday.
Analysis: On the heels of a 39-minute outing, in which he scored 33 points in Philadelphia's win, the former league MVP will take the floor on Thursday with a chance for another strong performance. Embiid has battled injuries throughout the season, but his late arrival to this opening-round series has been difference-making. He'll likely carry a heavy workload, as the Sixers try to avoid elimination.
