Lonnie Walker
Lonnie Walker scores 31 points with eight threes
Sun, Apr 13, 2025, 9:59 AM
Lonnie Walker IV led the 76ers with 31 points (11-of-23 FGs), six rebounds, two assists and eight three-pointers in a 122-102 loss to the Bulls on Sunday.
Analysis: Walker signed with the 76ers right after the All-Star break and ended up having a solid season for them, albeit in just 20 appearances. He ended it on a high note with new season highs for both points and three-pointers. He averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 triples in 23.8 minutes per game this season. The 76ers have a team option to keep Walker for another season, but with the team healthy heading into next year, it's unlikely that he replicates these numbers.
Tyrese Maxey
Maxey (finger) needs at least ‘another month'
Sun, Apr 13, 2025, 6:42 AM
Kyle Neubeck
Tyrese Maxey (finger) said he needs “at least another month” before he can get back to basketball.
Analysis: Maxey, who has been sidelined since early March, should be ready for the start of next season, but it's going to be a little while before he returns to playing basketball. Maxey's season has been over for a while, and the 76ers aren't going to play in the postseason, so this won't have any immediate impact. However, it appears that his finger injury is fairly severe, since it'll end up being close to three months off before he returns to basketball activities.
Quentin Grimes
76ers starting Butler, Grimes, Walker, Bagley Bona
Sun, Apr 13, 2025, 6:39 AM
The 76ers will start Jared Butler, Quentin Grimes, Lonnie Walker IV, Marcus Bagley, and Adem Bona against the Bulls on Sunday.
Analysis: Grimes is back in the mix for the shorthanded 76ers and will bump Ricky Council IV to the bench.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes (shoulder) available Sunday vs. CHI
Sun, Apr 13, 2025, 6:07 AM
Keith Pompey
Quentin Grimes (shoulder) is available for Sunday's game against the Bulls.
Analysis: Grimes is available after sitting out Friday's loss to the Hawks. He can be a significant asset to fantasy managers in active leagues if he can approach his average of 35.6 minutes per game over his last five appearances. Given how well Grimes has played for the 76ers, he's undoubtedly worth the risk.
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry (hip) ruled out Sunday vs. Chicago
Sat, Apr 12, 2025, 12:10 PM
NBA Injury Report
Kyle Lowry (hip) is out for Sunday's game against the Bulls.
Analysis: Lowry will sit out the 76ers' finale, which is an unfortunate end to a disappointing season. The veteran point guard only appeared in 35 games and finished ranked outside the top 300 in eight-cat formats. His days of impacting fantasy basketball are likely in the rearview mirror.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes, Justin Edwards questionable Sunday
Sat, Apr 12, 2025, 12:07 PM
NBA Injury Report
Quentin Grimes (shoulder) and Justin Edwards (ribs) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Bulls.
Analysis: The 76ers have secured the fifth-best odds in next month's draft lottery, increasing the likelihood that they'll hold onto their top-six protected first-round pick. Sunday's result won't change that, which may increase Grimes's chances of playing. To say he's likely earned himself some money ahead of restricted free agency with his play over the past month would be an understatement. As for Edwards, he's also played well when available, with the 76ers converting him to a standard contract just before the All-Star break.
Jared Butler
Jared Butler scores 25 points in loss to Atlanta
Fri, Apr 11, 2025, 3:35 PM
Jared Butler led the 76ers with 25 points (9-of-18 FGs), four rebounds, seven assists, two steals and four three-pointers in a 124-110 loss to the Hawks on Friday.
Analysis: This was one of Butler's best performances of the season, and it ended up being his highest-scoring game as a 76er. He scored 26 points in January when he was with the Wizards, which actually came against the 76ers. Butler has been an excellent fantasy option during the final few weeks of the last few seasons, but he hasn't been able to find a situation where he can play a significant role early on. That is unlikely to change with Philadelphia next season, but he should play a ton in the season finale against Chicago on Sunday.
Colin Castleton
Colin Castleton scores 16 points off bench Friday
Fri, Apr 11, 2025, 3:24 PM
Keith Pompey
Colin Castleton provided a boost off the bench with 16 points (6-of-7 FGs), eight rebounds and one steal against the Hawks on Friday.
Analysis: Across Castleton's first four games with the 76ers, he only scored a total of 14 games. He surpassed that mark in this game alone. Castleton had some solid games while playing on 10-day contracts for Toronto in March, but this performance featured a new season-high for scoring. Following the game, Castleton agreed to a standard contract with the Raptors. He will return to Toronto and could be available for their season finale in San Antonio on Sunday.
Ricky Council
PHI starting Butler, Walker, Council, Bagley, Bona
Fri, Apr 11, 2025, 12:38 PM
Philadelphia 76ers
Jared Butler, Lonnie Walker IV, Ricky Council IV, Marcus Bagley and Adem Bona will start Friday's game against the Hawks.
Analysis: With Quentin Grimes joining Philadelphia's lengthy list of inactive players, Council moves into the starting lineup. He's worth slotting into lineups in active fantasy leagues due to Philadelphia's lack of options. Walker will also have added value due to the need for his scoring.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes (shoulder) ruled out vs. Atlanta
Fri, Apr 11, 2025, 11:24 AM
Keith Pompey
Quentin Grimes (shoulder) has been ruled out against the Hawks on Friday.
Analysis: Philadelphia has no reason to make their players play through minor ailments, especially players as good as Grimes. His absence will help improve their lottery odds. Lonnie Walker IV and Jared Butler should be in line for extra minutes and shots with Grimes sidelined.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (knee) undergoes successful surgery
Fri, Apr 11, 2025, 11:18 AM
Jason Dumas
Joel Embiid underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his left knee on Wednesday.
Analysis: Ruled out for the remainder of the season back on February 28, Embiid finally underwent surgery earlier this week. The team announced that an update on his status would be provided in six weeks. Given his importance to the 76ers' rotation, Embiid's availability will significantly impact how the front office approaches the draft and free agency. From a fantasy standpoint, the 2023 MVP's injury history will likely drop his ADP outside the top-50.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes, Justin Edwards questionable
Thu, Apr 10, 2025, 10:23 AM
NBA Injury Report
Quentin Grimes (shoulder) and Justin Edwards (ribs) are questionable for Friday's matchup with the Hawks.
Analysis: Grimes has been doing it all for the Sixers lately, and his absence would be a huge loss for the team. With Edwards also banged up, Lonnie Walker IV and Jared Butler should see more playing time, with Walker IV the preferred fantasy option.
Adem Bona
Adem Bona tallies 17 points, nine rebounds Weds.
Wed, Apr 9, 2025, 3:43 PM
Adem Bona tallied 17 points (6-of-8 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), nine rebounds and two blocks in 32 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Wizards.
Analysis: Bona finished Wednesday's victory one rebound shy of his third straight appearance with at least ten. However, the 17 points are the most he's tallied in a game since dropping a season-high 28 on the Bucks on April 3. It's unknown when Guerschon Yabusele (personal) will rejoin the team, but he started alongside Bona before needing to step away. Bona should play plenty during Philadelphia's final two games.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes records 17/11/6/2/1 line vs. WAS
Wed, Apr 9, 2025, 3:42 PM
Quentin Grimes finished Wednesday's win over the Wizards with 17 points (4-of-17 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and three three-pointers in 30 minutes.
Analysis: Grimes shot the ball poorly in the nation's capital, but the positive is that he provided value in other areas. The 11 rebounds were two shy of his season-high, and he also offered solid production in the assists and steals categories. The lingering question heading into the season's final two games is what Grimes's playing time will look like. He hasn't played fewer than 30 minutes since February 26, which may bode well for active fantasy managers who have him rostered.
Jeff Dowtin
Jeff Dowtin Jr. drops career-high 30 points in win
Wed, Apr 9, 2025, 3:41 PM
Jeff Dowtin Jr. shot 11-of-15 from the field and 4-of-6 from the foul line in Wednesday's win over the Wizards, scoring 30 points with three assists, four steals, one block and four three-pointers in 29 minutes.
Analysis: Since he was active for Wednesday's game, Dowtin will only be able to play in one of Philadelphia's final two games for two-way contract reasons. He made the most of his rotation minutes on Wednesday, scoring a career-high 30 points and nearly recording a complete stat line. For those in leagues active through the end of the regular season, Dowtin will be worth streaming for whichever of Philadelphia's last two games he's available for.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes in, Justin Edwards out Wednesday
Wed, Apr 9, 2025, 11:46 AM
NBA Injury Report
Quentin Grimes (back) is available for Wednesday's game against the Wizards, and Justin Edwards (ribs) is out.
Analysis: While Grimes is good to go for Wednesday's game, Edwards will miss a second straight. Lonnie Walker IV should remain in the starting lineup, which raises his ceiling in active fantasy leagues.
Tyrese Maxey
Maxey (finger) aggravated injury, out for season
Wed, Apr 9, 2025, 11:25 AM
Mike Vorkunov
Tyrese Maxey (finger) is out for the rest of the season after reinjuring his finger.
Analysis: While ESPN's Shams Charania reported on April 3 that Maxey was done for the season, the 76ers said he aggravated a previous finger injury during his ramp-up to play. As a result, he is officially done for the season, but Maxey is expected to fully recover this offseason. Injuries limited Maxey to 52 games during 2024-25, averaging a career-high 26.3 points and providing top-15 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. This was the first season Maxey failed to play at least 60 games, so he should not take too significant of a hit in drafts next fall.
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry (hip) ruled out vs. Washington
Tue, Apr 8, 2025, 11:54 AM
NBA Injury Report
Kyle Lowry (hip) has been ruled out against the Wizards on Wednesday.
Analysis: Lowry has appeared twice since the All-Star break, including Philadelphia's most recent, which was a loss to the Heat. It's unclear if Lowry will be available to play in their final two games of the season, but he is past his days of impacting fantasy basketball.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes, Justin Edwards get Q-tag vs. WAS
Tue, Apr 8, 2025, 11:44 AM
Adam Aaronson
Quentin Grimes (back) and Justin Edwards (rib) are questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
Analysis: Grimes is questionable with back soreness while Edwards is dealing with a rib contusion. Both would be in line for plenty of minutes if they're available with Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) already ruled out.
Adem Bona
Adem Bona posts 16/11/1/1/3 stat line in defeat
Mon, Apr 7, 2025, 4:27 PM
Adem Bona amassed 16 points (7-of-11 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocked shots in 35 minutes in Monday's loss to the Heat.
Analysis: The 76ers were without Guerschon Yabusele (personal) for Monday's game, placing even more responsibility on Bona's shoulders. The rookie responded well, recording his third double-double while blocking three shots. Bona has tallied at least three blocks in six of his last seven outings, providing excellent value in that category. Bona's fantasy value heading into next season depends primarily on Joel Embiid and how much time he'll need to recover from his most recent knee surgery.
