Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry (hip) ruled out Saturday vs. Nets
Fri, Feb 21, 2025, 10:41 AM
NBA Injury Report
Kyle Lowry (hip) will remain out for Saturday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: While the 76ers continue to blame right hip injury management for Lowry's absence, he missed the team's last two games before the All-Star break. The veteran point guard's continued absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball, as his minutes have been limited behind starter Tyrese Maxey.
Paul George
Paul George tallies team-high 17 points vs. Boston
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 3:23 PM
Paul George logged 29 minutes in Thursday's loss to the Celtics, amassing 17 points (7-of-14 FGs), two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and three three-pointers.
Analysis: George led six 76ers in double figures with 17 points but offered limited value outside of points, three-pointers, and field-goal percentage. Over the past month, PG has provided eighth-round value in eight-cat formats. While he hasn't been the most disappointing fantasy player, the 76ers wing has not performed at the level that fantasy managers or 76ers fans expected. George and the 76ers end their Week 16 slate with a game against the Nets on Saturday.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey posts 16/5/7/1 line in blowout loss
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 3:21 PM
Tyrese Maxey accounted for 16 points (6-of-10 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one three-pointer in 34 minutes during Thursday's loss to the Celtics.
Analysis: While Maxey's point total wasn't what fantasy managers have grown accustomed to seeing, he efficiently put up those numbers. The 76ers guard did not commit a turnover, the first time he's recorded a zero in that category since January 18. While Joel Embiid and Paul George's availability issues haven't helped, Maxey's efficiency has taken a hit this season. The more significant concern going forward for fantasy managers would be if Philadelphia's front office decides to throw in the towel on this season. If that were the path taken, Maxey would likely play fewer minutes or sit out for “injury management” reasons.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid offers limited production vs. Celtics
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 3:19 PM
Joel Embiid finished Thursday's loss to the Celtics with 15 points (3-of-9 FGs, 9-of-9 FTs), three rebounds, and four assists in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Embiid was back in the lineup after sitting out Philadelphia's final game before the break, and he didn't look great. The former MVP shot 33.3 percent from the field, needing a perfect night from the foul line saved the points tally. While the 76ers remain within striking distance of a play-in spot, the 76ers braintrust may have to consider shutting Embiid down if he continues to labor though his knee injury. The knee will likely require surgery and a lengthy absence at some point for Embiid to regain full strength.
Eric Gordon
76ers unsure of best approach for Eric Gordon
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 11:38 AM
Noah Levick
Nick Nurse said Eric Gordon (wrist) has seen two specialists and the results are “very concerning.”
Analysis: Gordon last played on February 9, and the 76ers are still unsure of the best approach to take to get him healthy. Nurse added that a long-term absence is on the table. Gordon has played a consistent role for Philadelphia this season, though that hasn't translated to much fantasy production. Quentin Grimes and Lonnie Walker IV will occupy the shooting guard minutes moving forward.
Lonnie Walker
Lonnie Walker to make Philadelphia debut Saturday
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 11:30 AM
Noah Levick
Lonnie Walker IV is expected to make his debut for the 76ers on Saturday against the Nets.
Analysis: Walker signed with Philly on Tuesday and will not play against the Celtics on Thursday. When he makes his debut against Brooklyn, he'll have a chance to be part of their rotation off the bench, especially with Eric Gordon (wrist) out indefinitely. Walker's presence may take away a few minutes from Quentin Grimes.
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry (hip) to remain out Thursday vs. Boston
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 10:57 AM
NBA Injury Report
Kyle Lowry (hip) is out for Thursday's game against the Celtics.
Analysis: Lowry missed Philadelphia's last two games before the break due to right hip injury management and remains out for Thursday night for the same reason. The veteran point guard has been more critical to the 76ers than to fantasy managers this season, especially with the continued emergence of Tyrese Maxey.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (knee) removed from injury report
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 10:51 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (knee) is not on the injury report for Thursday's game against the Celtics.
Analysis: Embiid did not play in Philadelphia's final game before the All-Star break, a February 12 loss to the Nets. His return means Quentin Grimes will head to the bench, and Guerschon Yabusele will shift from center to power forward. While both players will see their fantasy values decrease, they will remain in the 76ers rotation.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey (knee) removed from injury report
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 10:48 AM
NBA Injury Report
Tyrese Maxey (knee) is not on the injury report for Thursday's game against the Celtics.
Analysis: Maxey is available after sitting out Philadelphia's last game before the All-Star break, a February 12 loss to the Nets. His return means Jared Butler will head to the bench, where he offers little value to fantasy managers.
Eric Gordon
Eric Gordon (wrist) out Thursday vs. Celtics
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 10:43 AM
NBA Injury Report
Eric Gordon (wrist) is out for Thursday's game against the Celtics.
Analysis: Gordon missed Philadelphia's final two games before the All-Star break with a sprained right wrist, and he isn't healthy enough to return. Quentin Grimes, who scored 30 points in a February 12 loss to the Nets, will continue to figure prominently in the 76ers' rotation.
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon do not practice Tuesday
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 7:05 AM
Sam DiGiovanni on Twitter
Kyle Lowry (hip) and Eric Gordon (wrist) missed Tuesday's practice.
Analysis: Lowry and Gordon have both missed extended time this season, but neither have been too productive when available. With both players sitting out and Justin Edwards now dealing with an ankle injury, Jared Butler and Quentin Grimes should see increased playing time moving forward.
Lonnie Walker
Lonnie Walker IV agrees to two-year deal with PHI
Tue, Feb 18, 2025, 9:58 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Lonnie Walker IV has agreed to a two-year, $3 million contract with the 76ers.
Analysis: Walker signed to play in Lithuania after the Celtics waived him in October, but he will return to the United States to suit up for Philadelphia. Walker played well for Brooklyn last season and will have a chance to play a significant reserve role for the 76ers. If that happens, he'll split guard minutes with Quentin Grimes and Jared Butler, who have been the top two reserve guards for Philly as of late.
Jared Butler
Shams: Jared Butler converted to standard deal
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 12:12 PM
Shams Charania
The 76ers have converted Jared Butler from a two-way contract to a standard two-year deal, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
Analysis: Butler was traded from Washington to Philadelphia at the trade deadline, and he has played well through three games, averaging 10 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. Butler started on Wednesday night in place of the injured Tyrese Maxey and dished out nine assists. He can be a reliable source of dimes if Maxey ends up missing any games after the All-Star break. The former second-round pick hasn't been able to carve out a consistent role through his first few seasons in the league, but he may continue to play the backup point guard minutes behind Maxey instead of Kyle Lowry.
Paul George
Paul George receiving PRP injections to play
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 10:22 AM
Shams Charania
Paul George has been receiving PRP injections to play recently, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
Analysis: Charania said that “it's to the point where [George] has gotten injections to play and compete over the last four or five games. That's something players do come playoff time, not necessarily in the regular season.” George hyperextended his knee during the preseason and has recently been dealing with an injury to his left pinky. He is clearly nowhere near 100 percent, and it has shown in his recent production. PG has the All-Star break to heal up as much as possible, but it doesn't seem like this is something that will be fixed over the course of a week. It has been a tumultuous season for the 76ers, and it just continues to get worse.
Paul George
Paul George struggles with two points in loss
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 4:32 PM
Paul George had two points (1-of-7 FGs), six rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks against the Nets on Wednesday.
Analysis: It seems difficult to believe that George has played this badly and yet, his struggles continued Wednesday. He had two points in a pathetic performance against the Nets that saw him go 1-of-7 from the field. George has failed to score at least 10 points in three of his last six games. He had scored at least 25 points in four of five games prior to that stretch. Maybe George is able to turn it around after the All-Star break, but it looks pretty bleak right now.
Kelly Oubre
Kelly Oubre Jr. has 30 points, 2 threes in loss
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 4:31 PM
Kelly Oubre Jr. had 30 points (10-of-16 FGs), three rebounds, two steals and two 3-pointers against the 76ers on Wednesday.
Analysis: With Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey out Wednesday, Oubre Jr. took on a bigger scoring role. The 29-year-old small forward had his first 30-point game of the year. Oubre Jr. had it all going on offense going 10-of-16 from the field and making two 3-pointers. He also got to the foul line eight times and made all of his free throws. Oubre Jr. isn't going to reach this ceiling often when Philly's stars are healthy, but he's a top-75 fantasy player on the season.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes has 30 points, 4 threes in loss
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 4:30 PM
Quentin Grimes had 30 points (10-of-18 FGs), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and four 3-pointers against the Nets.
Analysis: Grimes was inserted into the starting lineup with Tyrese Maxey out Wednesday. Even with Maxey healthy, Grimes has played at least 28 minutes in four straight games since being acquired by the 76ers. His usage went way up without Maxey, though, as his 30 points were tied for a game-high. Grimes will head back to the bench when Maxey comes back, but he would have streaming value in deeper formats when inserted into the starting lineup.
Quentin Grimes
Jared Butler, Quentin Grimes to start vs. Brooklyn
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 1:05 PM
Philadelphia 76ers
Jared Butler, Quentin Grimes, Kelly Oubre Jr., Paul George, and Guerschon Yabusele will start Wednesday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: The 76ers are without Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid for Tuesday's game, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. Butler and Grimes will fill the voids, with the latter having deep-league streaming value. Also, Yabusele returns to the starting lineup after coming off the bench for Philadelphia's last two games, pushing Justin Edwards to the bench due to Philadelphia's need for a big.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey (knee) questionable Wednesday vs. BKN
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 11:50 AM
Tyrese Maxey (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Maxey scored just five points in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors. The 24-year-old point guard popped up on the injury report just hours before game-time with a right knee contusion Wednesday. Maxey could find himself on the wrong side of questionable here. Jared Butler could see increased minutes if Maxey is out, though he's not a recommended streaming option.
Eric Gordon
Eric Gordon (wrist) out vs. Brooklyn Wednesday
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 8:14 AM
NBA Injury Report
Eric Gordon (wrist) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Gordon's set to miss a second consecutive game with a wrist injury. Quentin Grimes is primed to step in to a supporting role off the bench again.
