Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (illness) questionable Monday vs. Heat
Sun, Nov 17, 2024, 11:31 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against Miami.
Analysis: Embiid is back on the injury report due to an illness. If he cannot play, Andre Drummond will move into the starting lineup and would be worth streaming. Guerschon Yabusele would also be in for additional minutes, albeit in a bench role.
Paul George
Paul George puts up 13/4/5/4 line with three treys
Fri, Nov 15, 2024, 3:59 PM
Paul George struggled with his shot on Friday but still finished with 13 points (4-of-15 FGs), four rebounds, five assists, four steals and three 3-pointers against the Magic.
Analysis: George appeared to finally have found his shot after dropping 32 points and eight 3-pointers on Tuesday, but that didn't carry over into Friday's game. He was able to somewhat redeem himself by hitting a few shots in the second half, but it wasn't enough for the 76ers to get a win, and they scored a season-low 86 points. They don't have another back-to-back until December, which is a great sign for managers that have George rostered. He should be available for their next seven games, which should help him get a rhythm going.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid scores 20 points despite poor shooting
Fri, Nov 15, 2024, 3:46 PM
Joel Embiid posted a full line on Friday with 20 points (5-of-15 FGs, 10-of-10 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and six turnovers against Orlando.
Analysis: After struggling in his season debut earlier this week, Embiid got off to a strong start on Friday. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to keep it up after the break. He scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half, and it seemed like he was back to being a dominant fantasy force. Managers drafted Embiid in the first round with the expectation that availability would be an issue early and often this season, but that the on-court production would make it worth it. Well, that simply hasn't been the case so far this season. They'll have two days off before playing in Miami on Monday, which will be his next opportunity to get back on track.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (illness) available Friday vs. ORL
Fri, Nov 15, 2024, 12:38 PM
NBA Injury Report
Andre Drummond (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Magic.
Analysis: Drummond is officially available after the 76ers initially considered him questionable. He's back after a one-game absence, but so is starter Joel Embiid. With Guerschon Yabusele also receiving rotation minutes, there isn't much to gain from rostering Drummond in most leagues.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (illness) questionable vs. Magic
Thu, Nov 14, 2024, 9:51 AM
Andre Drummond (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's 76ers-Magic game.
Analysis: Drummond is in danger of missing a second straight game after sitting against the Cavaliers. Adem Bona will get some rotation consideration if Drummond is ruled out, as Joel Embiid is not at 100% from a fitness perspective just yet.
Kelly Oubre
Oubre Jr. has 20 points, six rebounds in loss
Wed, Nov 13, 2024, 4:42 PM
Kelly Oubre Jr. had 20 points (8-of-14 FGs), six rebounds, one block and two 3-pointers against the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
Analysis: Oubre Jr. was efficient with 20 points on 14 shots. He made 2-of-5 attempts from behind the 3-point line and was 2-of-2 from the free throw line. With the 76ers shorthanded, Oubre Jr. figured to take on an increased scoring role. While he did to some degree, he ultimately took a backseat to Jared McCain. Philadelphia plays again on Friday against the Magic.
Paul George
Paul George, Joel Embiid expected to play Friday
Wed, Nov 13, 2024, 11:58 AM
Tim Bontemps
76ers coach Nick Nurse said before Wednesday's game against Cleveland that Paul George and Joel Embiid are expected to play on Friday against Orlando.
Analysis: Despite George and Embiid's bodies responding well after Tuesday's loss to the Knicks, they will not play against the undefeated Cavaliers. They're expected to play on Friday, and George will not be under any restrictions regarding playing time. That's good news for managers who have him rostered, while Embiid managers will have to wait a little longer for his restrictions to be removed.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (illness) downgraded to out vs. CLE
Wed, Nov 13, 2024, 11:50 AM
Gina Mizell
Andre Drummond (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Drummond was a late addition to the injury report, even on the second night of a back-to-back. With Joel Embiid also out, Guerschon Yabusele and Adem Bona will be their options down low against Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, though the latter is still listed as questionable.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (illness) questionable vs. Cavs
Wed, Nov 13, 2024, 10:34 AM
NBA Injury Report
Andre Drummond (illness) is questionable to play against Cleveland on Wednesday.
Analysis: This is the second night of a back-to-back, which means that Joel Embiid has already been ruled out. Drummond will start if he plays, but if he isn't able to suit up, they'll match up against a giant frontcourt without their top two centers. Adem Bona may be forced to take on a significant role, but he hasn't really been of the team's rotation this season. Guerschon Yabusele is another option as an undersized big man.
Paul George
Paul George, Joel Embiid out Wednesday vs. CLE
Wed, Nov 13, 2024, 9:37 AM
Shams Charania on Twitter
Paul George and Joel Embiid will miss Wednesday's matchup with the Cavaliers due to left knee injury management.
Analysis: No surprises here, as both players will sit out the second half of Philly's Tuesday-Wednesday back-to-back set. Availability for back-to-backs should be a major concern for both players until further notice. With Tyrese Maxey out of action, Jared McCain figures to get the biggest boost in fantasy value.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (knee) struggles in return Tuesday
Tue, Nov 12, 2024, 4:29 PM
Ky Carlin
Joel Embiid (left knee injury recovery) logged 26 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Knicks, scoring 13 points (2-of-11 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), three rebounds, five assists, one block, and one 3-pointer.
Analysis: Embiid made his much-anticipated season debut on Tuesday, and to no one's surprise, he was rusty. The 76ers center did not move with much fluidity during his first stint on the court, but things got a little better as the night progressed. Unfortunately, he could return to the bench as the 76ers host Cleveland on Wednesday. Following Tuesday's loss, 76ers coach Nick Nurse said nothing about Embiid or Paul George had been decided. Embiid said , but don't be surprised if the 76ers medical staff holds him out.
Paul George
Paul George scores game-high 29 points vs. Knicks
Tue, Nov 12, 2024, 4:28 PM
Ky Carlin
Paul George accounted for 29 points (10-of-19 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block, and seven 3-pointers in 32 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Knicks.
Analysis: George and Caleb Martin were the only starters to establish any offensive rhythm in Tuesday's Emirates NBA Cup defeat. It's fair to wonder if incorporating Joel Embiid into the lineup had anything to do with that, as this was the big man's first game of the season. George is providing top 50 fantasy value, but the availability concerns remain. While 76ers coach Nick Nurse said after Tuesday's game that George's status for Wednesday's game against Cleveland has not been determined, fantasy managers should assume that he will not play.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (knee) to play 25-30 minutes Tuesday
Tue, Nov 12, 2024, 11:53 AM
Kyle Neubeck
Joel Embiid will play between 25 and 30 minutes in Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
Analysis: After a lingering knee injury and three-game suspension, Embiid will make his season debut on Tuesday. As expected, his minutes will be limited, with the 2023 MVP dealing with a restriction of 25-30 minutes. Depending on the game's flow, Embiid may play either a few minutes less or a few more.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid off injury report vs. New York
Mon, Nov 11, 2024, 10:35 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid is not listed on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
Analysis: Embiid's three-game suspension is over, and now he's healthy enough to make his season debut. This will be a situation worth monitoring, since he has been managing a left knee injury. His return should push Andre Drummond back to the bench, but we'll see how many minutes Embiid plays before dropping his fill-in.
Andre Drummond
Drummond has double-double as Sixers lose by 10
Fri, Nov 8, 2024, 6:53 PM
Andre Drummond had 14 points (6-of-12 FGs), 12 rebounds and three steals against the Lakers on Friday.
Analysis: Drummond is a great example of how a player can be more valuable in fantasy than in real-life. While Drummond had a double-double for his fantasy managers, he was -19 in 22 minutes in a 10-point loss. He'll continue to carry value as long as he's starting while Joel Embiid is out. Drummond has another chance to start Sunday against the Hornets before Embiid is set to return next week.
Paul George
Paul George has just nine points in loss to Lakers
Fri, Nov 8, 2024, 6:50 PM
Paul George had nine points (4-of-13 FGs), four rebounds, eight assists and one steal against the Lakers on Friday.
Analysis: George struggled against the Lakers. He had only nine points on 13 shots and was 0-of-6 from behind the 3-point line. George only attempted two free throws, though he excelled in a playmaking role with eight assists and no turnovers. He was -4 in 25 minutes in the 10-point loss. The Sixers get a chance to bounce back against the Hornets on Sunday.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) to be evaluated in 1 week
Thu, Nov 7, 2024, 12:28 PM
Keith Pompey
Tyrese Maxey has been diagnosed with a strained right hamstring and will be re-evaluated in one week.
Analysis: Maxey injured his hamstring during Wednesday's loss to the Clippers, leaving Philadelphia without two of its three stars. Kyle Lowry should be the choice to move into the starting lineup, but he offers limited fantasy value at this stage in his career. Also, Reggie Jackson will move into the rotation, with Jared McCain and Jeff Dowtin having the opportunity to earn more minutes.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) out two weeks
Thu, Nov 7, 2024, 6:53 AM
Shams Charania on Twitter
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Tyrese Maxey will be sidelined at least two weeks due to a right hamstring injury.
Analysis: Maxey suffered the injury Wednesday, and he'll be out of action until at least November 21. Joel Embiid will serve the final two games of his suspension and miss Friday's matchup with the Lakers and Sunday's matchup with the Hornets at minimum. Assuming he's healthy, Embiid could make his season debut on November 12 against the Knicks, which would give Philly two of its Big 3. While Maxey is sidelined, expect Eric Gordon, Jared McCain and Kyle Lowry to pick up the slack in the backcourt.
Kelly Oubre
Oubre Jr. has 18/2/3 line as Sixers lose to Clips
Wed, Nov 6, 2024, 7:06 PM
Kelly Oubre Jr. had 18 points (8-of-12 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer against the Clippers on Wednesday.
Analysis: Oubre Jr. tied Paul George for the team-lead in points against the Clippers. He was efficient with 18 points on 12 shots, made his only free throw and knocked down just 1-of-3 attempts from behind the 3-point line. Oubre Jr. turned it over three times, though, and was -6 in 25 minutes in the 12-point loss. Philadelphia has two more games this week starting with the Lakers on Friday and the Hornets on Sunday.
Paul George
PG13 has 18/7/2 line while on minutes restriction
Wed, Nov 6, 2024, 7:02 PM
Paul George had a full stat line with 18 points (7-of-9 FGs), seven rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and two 3-pointers against the Clippers on Wednesday.
Analysis: George had a great game considering he played only 24 minutes as he was on a minutes restriction due to a left knee bone bruise. He had 18 points on nine shots, made both of his free throws and nailed 2-of-3 attempts from behind the 3-point line. He did have four turnovers, though, and finished the game -11 in the 12-point loss to his former team. George should be back at his full complement of minutes in the near future. Philadelphia has two more games this week starting with the Lakers on Friday and the Hornets on Sunday.
