Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey pours in 28/2/10/2 line in loss
Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 6:24 PM
Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 28 points (11-of-21 FGs), two rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in a 144-109 loss to Denver on Tuesday.
Analysis: Maxey continued his offensive tear in this game, though it wasn't enough to snap their losing streak. He has scored at least 28 points in eight straight games, and this was the third time during this stretch that he has recorded a double-double. Maxey has stepped up with Joel Embiid sidelined, and it has resulted in him being a top ten player in 9-cat leagues over the past two months. Maxey will continue to be one of the best players in fantasy basketball, and with a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, he will likely see even more usage with Paul George potentially sitting out one of those games.
Paul George
Paul George (groin) records 11/5/9 line in return
Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 6:19 PM
Paul George posted a full line on Tuesday with 11 points (5-of-11 FGs), five rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer against Denver.
Analysis: George was back in the lineup after missing their last two games due to groin soreness, but he wasn't able to replicate his recent offensive production. He had scored at least 25 points in three straight games, but he had a much quieter night in this one. George was able to tie his season-high for assists and provide some defensive stats, so his night wasn't a total bust. He also only played 28 minutes, though that can be mostly attributed to the lopsided score. They have a back-to-back coming up on Friday and Saturday, and it wouldn't be surprising if George sat out one of those games.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (toe) available vs. Denver Tuesday
Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 3:33 PM
NBA Injury Report
Andre Drummond (left toe injury recovery) will play against the Nuggets on Tuesday.
Analysis: This will be Drummond's second appearance in their last nine games, and he will split the minutes at center with Guerschon Yabusele. Both players will play enough to be worth streaming in this game with Joel Embiid still sidelined, though Drummond will get the starting nod.
Paul George
Paul George (groin) available Tuesday vs. Nuggets
Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 3:32 PM
Paul George (left groin tightness) is available for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets.
Analysis: George missed both of the 76ers' games over the weekend dealing with a groin injury, but he's good to go against the Nuggets Tuesday. The 34-year-old's return to the lineup will move Ricky Council IV back to the bench.
Caleb Martin
Caleb Martin, Kyle Lowry out again vs. Denver
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 1:57 PM
NBA Injury Report
Caleb Martin (right groin soreness) and Kyle Lowry (right hip sprain) have been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup with the Nuggets.
Analysis: This will be a ninth straight absence for Lowry and a sixth straight absence for Martin. Philly is dealing with a ton of injuries, which was allowed Eric Gordon and Ricky Council IV to start, and Justin Edwards to play a significant role off the bench. They could have some reinforcements on the wing if Paul George returns, but there will be minutes for Gordon, Council and Edwards regardless as long as Martin and Lowry are sidelined.
Paul George
Paul George (groin) questionable Tuesday vs. DEN
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 1:43 PM
NBA Injury Report
Paul George (left groin tightness) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets.
Analysis: George did not play either game of Philadelphia's weekend back-to-back, with Ricky Council IV replacing him in the starting lineup. While a risky streaming play, Council will be worth the risk if the 76ers remain as shorthanded as they've been recently.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (toe) questionable Tuesday vs. DEN
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 1:39 PM
NBA Injury Report
Andre Drummond (toe) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets.
Analysis: Drummond did not play in Sunday's loss to the Bucks, and with Joel Embiid and Guerschon Yabusele also out, rookie Adem Bona was the starting center. If Drummond can play against the Nuggets, he'll likely be in the starting lineup opposite Nikola Jokic. He hasn't been a great fantasy option when healthy, but Embiid's continued absence would make Drummond worth the risk.
Adem Bona
Adem Bona has 10 points, 6 boards in spot start
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 3:42 PM
Adem Bona had 10 points (4-of-4 FGs), six rebounds, one steal and one block against the Bucks on Sunday.
Analysis: With the 76ers down Joel Embiid, Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele, Bona made the start at center Sunday against the Bucks. Given the difficult matchup against Milwaukee, he turned out to be a worthwhile streamer in deeper formats. Given that he needed three other players injured to get the start, though, Bona might not have much staying power.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey has 37 points, 6 threes against Bucks
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 3:41 PM
Tyrese Maxey had 37 points (14-of-28 FGs), six rebounds, seven assists, one steal and six 3-pointers against the Bucks on Sunday.
Analysis: With Joel Embiid (foot) and Paul George (groin) both out Sunday, it was no surprise that Maxey took it upon himself to lead the 76ers' offense. Maxey had 37 points on 28 shots including going 6-of-15 from behind the 3-point line. The 24-year-old point guard probably would've been better off driving the lane or creating offense for others than continuing to hoist 3-pointers. In the end, the Sixers ended up losing by 14, though Maxey was just -5 in 41 minutes.
Adem Bona
PHI starting Maxey, Gordon, Oubre, Council, Bona
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 12:37 PM
Philadelphia 76ers
Tyrese Maxey, Eric Gordon, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Council IV, and Adem Bona will start Sunday's game against the Bucks.
Analysis: The 76ers are without Joel Embiid, Paul George, Guerschon Yabusele, and Andre Drummond, to name a few absentees. Bona has played well recently, and he's been rewarded with the opportunity to start. Given how shorthanded Philadelphia is, he is worth streaming in deep leagues. Justin Edwards was initially reported as a starter, but Eric Gordon has replaced him.
Paul George
Paul George (groin) ruled out Sunday vs. Bucks
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 12:32 PM
Paul George (left groin tightness) is out for Sunday's game against the Bucks.
Analysis: George is set to miss both ends of the 76ers' back-to-back Saturday and Sunday. Tyrese Maxey should lead the Philadelphia offense once again with Joel Embiid (foot) also out. Ricky Council IV and Kelly Oubre Jr. will see more minutes with George unavailable.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drumond out, Guerschon Yabusele questionable
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 9:53 AM
NBA Injury Report
Andre Drummond (left toe injury recovery) is out for Sunday's matchup with the 76ers, and Guerschon Yabusele (right knee swelling) is questionable.
Analysis: Yabusele sat out Saturday, and Drummond got the start with Joel Embiid still on the shelf. It's possible the Sixers are alternating the two backup centers so that neither have to play both legs of the back-to-back set. If Yabusele is available, he'll likely draw the start, but if he's out, Philadelphia will have to go small at center. Second-round rookie Adem Bona finished with a career-high 12 points Saturday, and he could end up with the first unit.
Paul George
Paul George (groin) questionable Sunday
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 9:46 AM
NBA Injury
Paul George is questionable for Sunday's matchup with Milwaukee due to left groin tightness.
Analysis: George sat out Saturday against Indiana due to the groin injury, and he's in danger of missing the second leg of the back-to-back set. With both he and Joel Embiid sidelined Saturday, Tyrese Maxey led the offense with 28 points, while Ricky Council IV and Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in with 18 apiece. Expect Council IV and Oubre Jr. to see increased run if George is sidelined against the Bucks.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey leads 76ers with 28 points Saturday
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 3:52 PM
Tyrese Maxey shot 10-of-23 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line in Saturday's 115-102 loss to Indiana, accumulating 28 points, one rebound, three assists, and two 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
Analysis: With Joel Embiid and Paul George out, Maxey was again left to shoulder most of the offensive workload. The production outside of the point total was a bit lean, but the 76ers point guard has scored 28 points or more in each of his last six outings. Despite shooting 43.5% from the field, Maxey has provided 1st-round value in 9-cat formats over the past month. The one concern for fantasy managers is the possibility of Philadelphia's injuries shifting the front office's mindset to one of doing whatever they can to keep their 2025 first-round pick. It's top-6 protected, with Oklahoma City claiming the pick if Philadelphia lands outside that range.
Ricky Council
Ricky Council IV posts 18/9/2/3 line vs. Pacers
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 3:51 PM
Ricky Council IV accounted for 18 points (6-of-18 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), nine rebounds, two assists, three steals, and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes in Saturday's loss to Indiana.
Analysis: Council has started two of Philadelphia's last three games, reaching double digits in both. Despite the poor shooting, Saturday's stat line was solid due to the raw numbers. Accounting for a steal and a blocked shot in the same game for the second time, Council's five defensive contributions were a season-high. He'll likely get another opportunity to start on Sunday if George is not cleared to play against the Bucks.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond starts, scores eight points vs. IND
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 3:51 PM
Andre Drummond played 27 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Pacers, scoring eight points (4-of-8 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), three rebounds, and one steal.
Analysis: With Joel Embiid and Guerschon Yabusele out due to injury, Drummond started in his first game back from a sprained toe that cost him six games. The veteran center didn't do much in his time on the court, with fantasy managers receiving minimal value in the one category Drummond has consistently provided value (rebounds). Rookie Adem Bona had a good night off the bench, finishing with 12 points, six rebounds, and one assist in 19 minutes. If Yabusele remains sidelined for Sunday's game against the Bucks, the 76ers will be left to rely again on Drummond and Bona.
Ricky Council
PHI starting Maxey, Gordon, Oubre, Council, Andre
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 12:38 PM
NBA Injury Report
Tyrese Maxey, Eric Gordon, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Council IV, and Andre Drummond will start Saturday's game against the Pacers.
Analysis: Not only will the Suns be without Joel Embiid, but Paul George and Guerschon Yabusele have also been ruled out for Saturday's game. Drummond starts after missing six games with a toe injury, while Council will also be in the starting lineup.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (toe) active Saturday, will start
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 12:33 PM
NBA Injury Report
Andre Drummond (left toe sprain) is available for Saturday's game against the Pacers.
Analysis: Drummond is back after missing six games with a toe injury, and he'll be thrust into the starting lineup immediately. The 76ers are without Joel Embiid and Guerschon Yabusele, leaving Drummond and rookie Adem Bona as the only healthy big men on the roster.
Paul George
Paul George, Guerschon Yabusele ruled out Saturday
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 12:26 PM
Sean Barnard
Paul George (left groin tightness) and Guerschon Yabusele (right knee swelling) are out for Saturday's game against the Pacers.
Analysis: After not participating in Friday's practice, George and Yabusele were initially questionable for Saturday's game. They'll both sit out the matchup with the Pacers, with the former's absence being more impactful. Kelly Oubre Jr. and Eric Gordon will receive bumps to their fantasy values with George out, while Yabusele's absence boosts Andre Drummond (probable).
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (knee) to be re-evaluated in 7-10 days
Fri, Jan 17, 2025, 9:59 AM
Shams Charania on Twitter
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Joel Embiid experienced knee swelling following an on-court workout on Thursday, and he will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.
Analysis: Embiid has missed Philadelphia's last six games, and he's only appeared in 13 this season. This latest update means Embiid will be sidelined for at least the next four games and potentially more depending on the results of his re-evaluation. Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele will continue to fill in for him at center until he returns.
